MESSOA Cameras Protect Congo Presidential Pavilion

MessoaWhen it comes to important locations such as Presidential pavilions like the one in Congo, you need a very reliable set of cameras. These aren’t your traditional $50 cameras that you would get in your home, but these are high tech surveillance cameras that are not only extremely reliable, but they are also quite expensive.

Since this place is a very well known location that has a lot of important international visitors at a regular basis, it was important to choose a manufacturer for the cameras that has a long history of producing reliable security systems to improve their outside security.

The cameras that were chosen for this particular task are no surprise to us. The NCR870 was chosen for the outermost areas of the location, as well as the SDS750PRO dome camera.

The NCR870 is one of the highest quality IR Night Vision cameras that we have seen, and it produces an excellent image even if there is zero light in the area. Something that you might not be familiar with security cameras is the HD image of this particular item. The most common problem is the darkness that isn’t dark enough to use the IR system correctly, but still not light enough for the daylight mode to work as it is supposed to. This is not a problem for the NCR870, as it has Lumii II technology that will clear out all fuzzy images, and make the camera work very well in dim light.

Unlike most cameras, this network camera doesn’t require a power plug for it to work, but since it works over ethernet, it supports Power Over Ethernet or PoE, which allows more freedom for placement, and at the same time you can get done with less work.

The SDS750PRO on the other hand is a vandal proof dome camera, that can’t be beaten. It can be turned and just like the other cameras it comes with night vision. This is a very sturdy camera, and when Messoa says it’s vandal proof, it really is. When you are thinking about the cameras in Congo, they have to be really sturdy to take the possible beating they might get. Also both of these cameras are tested to work in extreme weather, especially in extremely hot weather.  That will come in hand with the hot summers.

For the insides of the building a high quality HD camera from Messoa was chosen. The NDF820 comes equipped with the same Lumii II tech, which allows for the crisply clear image even with low light, but it is also considered a cost effective solution in this price range, so they could deploy a lot of these cameras without blowing up the budget too much. It is also vandal proof as it comes in a bubble, and thanks to the 264 compression it has, you don’t have to worry about filling up your hard-drives too soon. This is important in a location like this as you don’t want to sacrifice the amount of saved surveillance. The longer you can go back when something happens, the better, and in locations like this it could be years.

Messoa NDF831 is the camera that is chosen for the entrances of the location. These are network cameras that have a 1080p image and a local storage option on a memory card. This means that even if someone gets the surveillance hard drives, the camera has an option to use a memory card and record itself. Thanks to the bubble, and the aluminium housing, this camera can take a beating should it come from a human or the mother earth. It is vandal and weather proof.

Don’t Let Pushy Sales People In The House!

Unfortunately we can’t trust most people that we know, and people usually learn this the hard way. When someone trying to sell you something comes to your door, and doesn’t take no for an answer, tries to get indoors, and looks very interested to see what you have inside the house, it is time to not back up and not open the door any more than you need.

For these situations it is a good idea to have some security equipment at hand, which isn’t intended for surveillance. Having a deadbolt on your door will help prevent someone coming in without keys, but having a safety chain will help you keep the door open only a little to see what the seller wants. You don’t have to open the whole door to see and hear their sales speech, and it isn’t rude to not let them inside the house if you don’t know them.

Be especially careful in situations where you ask the person to leave, and they won’t seem to take no for an answer. In these cases it might be a good idea to tell them that you don’t want what they are selling, and that you will call the police if they don’t leave your premises. Close the door and go to the phone to wait and see what they will do next. Most of the time they will go away, and they were just very pushy salesmen hoping to get commissions, but there are situations where they aren’t actually selling anything, but they are just trying to get inside your home and either see what they could come back for later, or make the grab while they are there.

When the situation has passed you should try to discuss this with your neighbors as well. If they have experienced the same situation it could be a good idea to report them to the police just in case they have been doing it elsewhere as well.

Home security is more about preventing than dealing with problems that have already happened. You don’t want to let someone in, then have a gun ready to shoot them if they make a wrong move. The best way to deal with this is to not let the problem arise in the first place!
